Clean-burning fuel for displaced families

fuel4good

Rise Future Energy is a pioneering sustainability company dedicated to transforming one of the most problematic forms of plastic waste, Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) into WaQood, a clean-burning, semi-solid (gel-like) fuel, produced using a 100% natural solvent through a carbon-neutral process.

Through our Fuel4Good initiative, we’re addressing energy poverty in refugee camps, where access to traditional fuels like wood, coal, and diesel is limited, costly, and environmentally damaging. Many camps face deforestation restrictions and rely on polluting, unreliable energy for cooking and heating. WaQood provides a safe, sustainable, and efficient alternative.

The Fuel4Good model is built on a circular economy framework involving three key stakeholders:

  • Waste Suppliers: Supermarkets, seafood processors, and electronics retailers that generate EPS waste and seek ESG improvement.

  • Funding Partners: NGOs, humanitarian agencies, and corporate CSR programs that support the fuel distribution to refugee communities.

  • End Beneficiaries: Refugee camps and displaced communities in urgent need of clean, accessible, and safe energy sources.

By diverting EPS waste away from landfills and repurposing it into humanitarian fuel, Rise Future Energy creates measurable social and environmental impact. This model not only reduces plastic waste and emissions but also helps partners meet sustainability goals and strengthen ESG performance.

Our approach exemplifies scalable innovation—bridging environmental sustainability and social equity by giving waste a second life and vulnerable communities a cleaner, safer future.

Why It Matters

Millions of refugees struggle daily to find safe fuel for cooking and heating.
Traditional options like firewood and charcoal are scarce, expensive, and often banned due to deforestation risks, especially in rural camps. As a result, families are left with no choice but to burn plastic bags, rubber, or other waste materials just to survive.

This dangerous practice releases toxic fumes, leading to:

  • Severe respiratory illnesses
  • Eye and skin irritation
  • Long-term health risks, including cancer

It’s not just unsustainable, it’s a humanitarian crisis affecting more than 90% of refugees in off-grid camps around the world.

Our Impact

Our mission is to deliver clean-burning fuel to thousands of refugee families by repurposing polystyrene waste that would otherwise end up in landfills. This initiative brings together waste contributors, humanitarian agencies, and corporate CSR programs working toward a shared goal of environmental and social impact.
